“It doesn’t matter, really, how great the pressure is;
it only matters where the pressure lies.
See that it never comes between you and the Lord–
then the greater the pressure, the more it presses you to His breast.”
–Hudson Taylor– missionary to China, 1800s
What are your pressures today?
What is consuming your mind and your time?
When life becomes almost more than you can handle, do you find yourself running AWAY or running TOWARD God?
Everyone is running one way or the other? Which way are you running?
Paul writes in the letter to the Philippians, “But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-14 ESV)
Commit today to press in toward the one who is called:
Jesus
Creator
Redeemer
Mighty to Save
Faithful
Healer
Messiah
Full of Mercy
Holy
King of kings
If you lead others in worship, your life is full of pressures. Allow those pressures to press you into a closer relationship with Christ.
“Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I PRESS on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus had made me his own.”
Philippians 3:12 (ESV)
